Event was held in the woodlands of Ogre city, Latvia and started already in the early morning of September 22. Rainy weather was not a barrier for people to join the activity. It was attended by local citizens of all age groups.
The event encouraged local citizens to be active all year round in outdoor sports by taking part in Nordic-walking and bicycling activity in nearby woodland. Event was organized together with Nordic-walking association of Ogre municipality. To sum up the Nordic-walking season and raise awareness of importance of moving in everyday life. It is held annually to gather people for a common sports event during all day and promote the possibilities of being active and move in the nearby woodlands.
The event was open for everyone and suitable for all ages and abilities. Participants were encouraged to participate by Nordic-walking, just walking or riding a bicycle, and to invite family, friends and colleagues to attend as well. Over 50 individuals engaged in the activities of the day, spending time outdoors hiking and bicycling. It was a fun day, only thing to add from participant’s point of view was the better weather conditions during the day and more sunshine.
At the finish point participants were introduced with possibilities available in Erasmus+ Sports project ‘’Movement Environment Well-being’’. Including the questionnaires of the MEW project research for Our Task campaign. The questions of participants were listened and more detailed information provided. Many of participants also signed up for receiving information related to more upcoming activities that will follow in the autumn and winter in Latvia as part of Our Task campaign.
