Transnational Project Meeting
The second transnational meeting of the MEW project took place in Riga (Latvia) on 20, 21 and 22 May 2019, thanks to the organization of the Latvian partner Baltic Youthway.
The meeting venue was a co-working office in a very central area of the city. During the workshop, participants analysed the results of the Our_Tasks and My_Tasks campaigns, defined the Model of Action, agreed on tasks assignments for the MEW book, planned the next steps towards the final event in Amsterdam in October 2019.
Last but not least, apart from working, participants were able to admire the beauty of the Hanseatic city of Riga and enjoyed warm temperatures (up to 27 °C) and sunny days, which are quite unusual for this time of the year.
In the historical 1928 Hall of the Amsterdam Olympic Stadium, volunteers from eight EU countries, staff of the organizations involved in the MEW project and general public gathered on 11 October 2019 for a public event organized by IMBA Europe. Italy, Portugal and Romania were represented by a remarkable number of volunteers.
During the event, two outputs of the project, the MEW book and the Model of Action, a practical guide to increase physical activity levels, were illustrated and distributed among participants.
Volunteers gave their testimonies of the experience with the experimentation of a programme to become more active and lead a healthier life, showing the impressive results they have achieved also as to psychological and social wellbeing. Trainers and staff of involved organizations gave their contribution with oral presentations, conveying the passion they had put in the project activities.
Volunteers were awarded the official certificate of “Volunteer of Sport” and undersigned the memorandum of association of the European Network for Health. This Network, which is the final output of the MEW project, will keep on delivering the message of the MEW project and will organize initiatives aimed at increasing physical activity levels in Europe, together with healthy and environment-friendly life styles.
